Shiloh (was Roxy) - 2 years old
Shiloh left us in May 2019 and flew into the care of the Animal Ark in Minneapolis, USA. She was lucky to go straight into foster care with Deborah Royal.
Shiloh was adopted in Oman but was returned to us after nine months. She then sadly had no interest from adopters in Oman so we made the decision to send her to America to better her chances at finding her forever home.
She has now been adopted by Michelle Gowans and family and has a new sister for company! Congratulations to you all! We wish you all a wonderful life together!
Thank you to Animal Ark for finding her forever home and to Deborah for doing an amazing job fostering her!

Suzie (6 years old) ⭐️
Suzie was rescued from a life of misery on the streets of Muscat when she was just two months old. She came to the pound with her mum and three siblings but shared a kennel with another dog called Duffy.
Suzie and Duffy were adopted together by a family in Muscat after four years spent at the pound. Things did not however work out for them and they sadly ended up back in our care.
After another two years at the pound and no interest from any adopters, we made the decision to send them to Dogs4Rescue in the UK in August 2019 to better their chances of finding their forever homes.
We are delighted to announce that Suzie has now been adopted by Louise Mckavett and family! We’re so happy for you all and so grateful that Suzie found such a lovely patient family!🐾
Thank you to Dogs4Rescue for taking Suzie into your care and for finding her forever home! 🏡

Cocoa (6 years old)
Cocoa came to our pound as a young pup seven years ago. She always shared a kennel with her buddy Charlie and the two beautiful dogs were continuously overlooked by adopters.
When the opportunity came up to send them both to Dogs4Rescue in the UK in December 2019, we sent them in the hope they would have more luck at finding a forever home than they had had in Muscat 🏡
It was obviously the correct decision as Cocoa now has her very own forever loving home with Diane Wright and family! Congratulations to you all and we wish you the best life making memories with your new family Cocoa. 🐾💕
A big thank you to Dogs4Rescue for taking Cocoa into your care and for finding her forever home!

Lucy (5 years old)
Little Lucy came to our pound in January 2019 with her eight young pups after being rescued from a harsh life on the streets by Diane and Stephen. She was timid of us all to start with but over time she started to gain confidence.
Lucy had no interest from adopters or fosterers in Oman so when the opportunity came to send her to America in October 2019, we thought she would have a better chance of finding her forever home in another country.
We made the right decision as shortly after Lucy arrived in the USA, she was fostered by Elaine and Dave Young for some time before they decided they couldn’t part with her and have now officially adopted her! 🎉❤️🐾
We’re so incredibly happy for you Lucy! Your street days of fending for yourself are over, you will be loved and looked after for the rest of your life! Congratulations Elaine and Dave! 🎉
Thank you to Greyhound Friends of New Jersey for taking such good care of her and finding her forever home!

Maggie (3 years old)
Beautiful Maggie was rescued by Pramod last year. She had been living in a park in Muscat having litter after litter of pups while Pramod watched helplessly as he was unable to catch her for two years. He eventually caught her along with one of her pups and they both came to the pound. 💗
Maggie was quite shy and understandably wary at first but it didn’t take her long to start trusting the volunteers. Her little tail would wag at the sight of familiar faces! The volunteers worked hard to leash train and socialize her!🐾
Maggie has now been adopted by Emma and will be going to live in the UK once she’s ready to travel! We’re so happy for her and know she will have a wonderful life with her new family and two feline siblings! 🐈🐈

Mitzy was a rescue Beagle from Dubai and had lived with the same family for 11 years. The time had come for them to leave Oman for Australia which sadly meant that the export process would be too stressful for her to endure, and they found themselves in the difficult position of having to rehome her.
Mitzy has now however completed her one month foster trial with Catherine and family and has fit in perfectly! They’ve now officially adopted Mitzy and we couldn’t be happier for you all! Wishing you all the best and a wonderful life together!

Ranchi (was Mel) - 6 months old
Ranchi was first brought to our attention by concerned residents living in a compound in Seeb. The guards of the compound were going to “remove” her as they didn’t want a stray dog wandering around. One of the residents then kept her in his garden so she was safe until we could find her a foster home.
Luckily for Ranchi, Franchu saw her post and offered to foster her. She quickly settled in with their family and it became clear she adored her foster brother Russo (adopted from MDA in 2018). When Ranchi had the chance to fly to GALT in the USA, Franchu and Anthony knew they couldn’t let her go!
She has now been officially adopted by them! We’re very happy for you all and delighted that Ranchi and Russo are now permanent siblings!

Heidi (one year old)
Heidi (black lab) came into our care earlier this year from an owner surrender. She went into a foster home with Aashumi and her family while we looked for her forever home . Heidi had a few issues however and also needed surgery to repair an injury to her leg.
She had one home trial which was unsuccessful so we knew we were looking for a specific kind of home for her. During the process Aashumi and her family fell in love with Heidi and decided that, despite her occasional aggressive/ jealous behaviour towards their other dogs, they couldn’t part with her! They even invested in some training to learn how to deal with her behaviours.
Congratulations Heidi! You’ve found a wonderful home with Aashumi, Sunil, Anitraa, Kaaviya and fur sisters Luna and MDA Alumni Fudge!

Amelia (2 years old)
Amelia came to our pound earlier this year with her two pups. The little family were found at a construction site living in a hole Amelia has dug to keep her pups safe. They were reported to and rescued by The Wave Cats and Dogs Rescue but as they had no where for the family to go to, we brought them to our pound.
Amelia was extremely timid at first and would not want to interact with anyone. Despite this all the volunteers loved her including Sam Woodcock. After discussing Amelia with his sister Deborah in the UK, Deborah decided to adopt Amelia! Amelia will be joining her new family in England next month! Congratulations Amelia! We know you’ll be loved and adored! Thank you Sam and Deborah for giving one of the shy ones a chance!

Rosie (4 years old)
Beautiful shy Rosie was caught in March this year after living on a golf course in Muscat for the past three years. She had been neutered by one of our volunteers- Vicky- three years ago and returned to the golf course. Vicky would regularly check on Rosie so before Vicky left Oman, she brought her to the pound where she knew she’d be safe.
At first, Rosie was very wary of everyone at the pound and would not allow the volunteers to get close. After some time however she became more trusting but we knew she would only progress so far in the pound environment. So Rosie went for a month of board and train at Jebel K9 and then straight into her foster to adopt home with Andrea and family.
It didn’t take long before they knew Rosie wasn’t going anywhere and decided to officially adopt her! Congratulations Rosie! Never will you have to worry about food, water, fleas, ticks or your safety ever again. We wish you all a wonderful life together!

Chloe (was Snowy) (9 months old)
Chloe was found wandering the streets of MQ on a few occasions by one of our adopters George. George then caught her and took her to the vet to check if she was micro chipped- she wasn’t. George then fostered Chloe for some time while we were looking for the right home for her.
Chloe then stayed at Jebel K9 where her future family went to meet her and it was love at first sight!
Congratulations Leah & family on the adoption of Chloe! We wish you all a wonderful future together! 🐾❤️🐕

Freckles (1 year old) ❤️
Freckles was found last August (2018) wandering around outside a compound in Al Hail wearing a collar. After the guards at the gate were seen shooing him away on a couple of occasions, it was apparent he didn’t live there and had probably been dumped.
Freckles was then brought to the pound where he stayed for a short time before we decided to send him to the Animal Ark shelter in America in October 2018.
He was initially adopted after just one week but unfortunately the family returned him. However, 6 months later, he has found his forever loving home with Tammy & family!
Congratulations! We hope you all live a very happy and fun life together! 🐾

Ansi (6 months old)
Ansi came to the pound in January with her mum and seven litter siblings. They were rescued from a college campus where mum Lucy had given birth and was trying to survive with her pups under a cabin.
Diane & Steven (their rescuers) reached out to us to help knowing that the little family would be doomed if the authorities knew they were at the college. Luckily we had space and took the whole family in!
Ansi has been adopted by Jon, Yasmin & their son! Congratulations on adopting Ansi and we wish you all the happiest life together! 🐾🎊💕

Django (3 months old) ❤️
Poor Django was rescued from being kept outside in a horrid cage after a concerned neighbour reported him to animal rescuer Pramod. In order to rescue him, Django’s owner agreed to sell him to us for RO 75 although he’d previously tried selling him on OLX for RO 200 😞. Thankfully Nada of Omani Paws put up the money for Django’s release and the rest is history!
Congratulations to Rebekah and Mohamed on the adoption of Django! We’re sure he’ll have a lovely cage free life with your family and Pitbull sister Sasha! ❤️🐾

Kitt (2.5 years old) ❤️
Kitt came to the pound two years ago after he wandered into Lorna Nairn’s garden all alone. He came to the pound as a young pup and made friends with Prince (seen here with him in the picture) and Amigo. Both of his pals got adopted last year and poor Kitt was all alone once again. Despite being such a gorgeous boy, he didn’t have any interest in potential adopters.
Now he’s reunited with his big buddy Prince and enjoying roaming the land of the Wadi Wranglers Wranch in France. Thank you Tanya & Anton for all your help with Kitt’s adoption!❤️

Elsa (9 months old) ❤️
Elsa was rescued last year after some students had found her wandering the streets all alone and, with no sign of her mum or siblings around, they took her home. They took her for vaccinations and kept her safe for some time but then contacted us as they were not allowed to keep her in their accommodation.
Elsa has been fostered for some time by our volunteer Teresa Greene & her family and they have now decided to officially adopted Elsa - We love a foster fail!! Congratulations to you all! We wish you all the best for the future and to continue making lovely memories together :) ❤️

Hope (7 months old) ❤️
Hope was rescued a few months ago after being reported by Ashwini who saw her looking for food in the same spot for a number of days leading us to believe she’d been abandoned.
She was first fostered by Cecy for some much needed one to one interaction and then she was fostered by George and Lady. Lady taught Hope how to relax, play & enjoy going for walks :) ♥️
She now lives in Chicago with her new dad Brian and fur brother Chip! Congratulations Brian!! We wish you all the best with the new addition to your fur family! :)🐾!💕🏡

Aredhel (was Smokey) (On the right)
Aredhel appeared one day at Ashling’s house in Al Hail. She was wearing a collar and lead so it either looked like she had escaped from home or been abandoned. She was taken to the vet to check for a microchip but she wasn’t chipped. We posted her on our sites to see if anyone recognized her but no one came forward.
We were then contacted by Mat in Pennsylvania, USA who had previously adopted a wadi dog Sansa and remarked on how similar the two dogs looked. Mat & his partner then decided to adopt Aredhel and the rest is history!
Congratulations on the adoption of Aredhel! We wish you all a wonderful life together! 💕🐾

Luna (1 year old)💖
Luna came to the pound in October 2018 after she had been seen on a number of occasions in the street. She was on her own and very friendly leading us to suspect she had been dumped. Since being with us in October she didn’t have any interest from potential adopters despite being such a lovely friendly girl. We therefore made the decision to send her to the Animal Ark, our partner shelter, in Minneapolis this month.
Luna has now been adopted by Suzanne! We are so happy for her to have the forever home she deserves and to be adopted so quickly! Congratulations Suzanne!! We wish you and Luna a wonderful life together! 🎉

Angel (4 months old)💖
Angel came to the pound in January with her mum and seven litter siblings. They were found living underneath a portable cabin at one of the college campuses in Muscat. They were not welcome there and had been threatened to be ‘removed’ 😞.
Angel was fostered by Aashumi Mody and her family for a few weeks before we decided to send her to America to increase her chances of getting adopted. She flew to Washington in April with some Omani paws rescue dogs and was adopted soon after arrival.
We have unfortunately been unable to make contact with her new family but have been told by the rescue center that she was adopted by a lovely family. We’ll continue to try and make contact as we’d all love to know how she’s doing. We hope she’s happy and well wherever she is 💕.

Annie (3 years old) ⭐️
Annie was rescued last year when one of our volunteers, Christopher Martin, found her all alone limping in a deserted sandy area outside Muscat. He brought her to Muscat and into our care where she was treated for tapeworms and an x-ray showed she had been shot in her front shoulder. Annie then had a big operation to repair her leg which was lucky as we initially thought it may need to be amputated. During her recovery Annie was kindly fostered by our volunteer Cristina.
Annie flew to the UK in June and went straight into a foster home with Kate and Simon for six weeks. They have now officially adopted her! We are so happy for her and love that she is now living a safe comfortable and loved life - the picture says it all! Congratulations to Kate and Simon!! We wish you all the best in your new life Annie!

Gorgeous boy Jake was rescued as a puppy by a family in Muscat. He lived with them for over a year but when the family left Oman they hadn’t made any plans to take Jake along and so he came to the pound.
Jake flew to New York on the 20th August and straight into the care of Greyhound Friends of New Jersey. He was lucky to go straight into foster care and was quickly adopted after 9 days by Joan Smolar! Jake now has a Greyhound brother and sister in his new home! :)
Congratulations Joan! We wish you all the best with Jake and hope you have many wonderful times ahead of you :)

PeggySue is a lovely little wadi dog who was rescued by one of the vets in Muscat. She’d found her wandering the streets and as PeggySue was far too friendly for a stray, we think she’d probably been dumped. 😞
She came to the pound for some time before she was fostered by two different people; Marieen & Cecy. During the time she was in our care, not one person had asked about adopting her. We therefore made the decision to send her to Greyhound Friends of New Jersey to better her chances of finding her forever home. She was kindly fostered by Marybeth until she found her forever home :)💕
We are very happy to announce that she has now been adopted by Arianna & Anthony & has a lovely Greyhound sister called Sweetpea!💕

Blue (2 years old) ❤️
This is not the usual happy adoption post that we add to this section but this gorgeous boy had been adopted and his story and picture needs to be added so he is not forgotten.
We were originally contacted about Blue back in August by his owners as they were leaving the country and hadn’t planned to take Blue with them. For those who are not aware, we ask for a surrender donation fee if you require us to help find a home for your non rescue pet. Blue’s parents were not willing to donate anything so Blue was then given to a ‘friend’. Poor confused Blue obviously didn’t know where he was, who the ‘friend’ was or where his family were, so he inevitably escaped and was found wandering around MQ. A concerned person had posted him on the Omani Paws Rescue Page and one of our volunteers saw it and recognized him as the dog we had previously been asked to take. To cut a long story short, the ‘friend’ brought Blue to one of the volunteers house and left him with her. Blue was now a rescue dog after essentially being abandoned.
The pound is not a suitable place to keep a husky so we were very grateful when Canadian Jebel k9 agreed to board Blue while we found his forever home. It didn’t take us too long to find! A lovely lady, Bryony Moule, who lives in Dubai contacted us and her family were perfect for Blue - Blue had found his forever family! We just had to get Blue ready to travel to them in Dubai which meant he needed the rabies titer test in order to enter the UAE. He had had the test (and passed) and was due to go to his forever home next month in November, Blue’s new dad even came to visit him while on business here in Muscat!
We are deeply saddened to announce that Blue lost his life due to the tragedy that occurred at Canadian Jebel k9. Blue, you were so loved already and Bryony and her family are devastated that you were taken away before you had even physically joined their family. You will be forever in our hearts and know that you were loved so much.

Duffy (6 years old)
Duffy was rescued six years ago as a young pup and brought to the pound. He started sharing a kennel with Suzie from a young age and after four years in the pound they were adopted together to a family in Muscat. This happiness was short lived however and both dogs were returned to us through no fault of their own.
When they came back to us, both dogs had no luck at all finding a forever home in Muscat, so we made the decision to send them to Dogs 4 Rescue in the UK to better their chances of finding a forever home.
Duffy has now found his forever home with new dad Peter Watson! Congratulations Peter! We’re absolutely thrilled for you Duffy and wish you a wonderful life ahead in your new home ❤️.
A massive thank you to Dogs4Rescue for taking such good care of him and finding him his forever home! 🏡❤️🐾.

Zuma was reported to us this month by a kind lady who had been feeding him but was about to move house and unfortunately couldn’t take him with her. We sadly didn’t have any space at the pound either so Zuma’s future was looking a bit bleak. Luckily though for Zuma, Neil Cook and his family were looking to add a fur baby and fell in love with him the minute they met him!
Congratulations Neil and family! We wish you all the best for a happy future ahead with Zuma! 💗🐾🎉

King (4 years old)
King’s previous owner surrendered King to us due to not having enough time to properly take care of him. We therefore started looking for a forever home for King and it didn’t take long! Anne and her husband were looking to add a fur baby to their family and had already met a few of our dogs at the pound and then King became available. They took him home for a months trial first and then made the adoption official!
Judging by King’s face in this photo, we think he’s pretty happy in his new home!

Ruby (4 years old)
Ruby was reported to us in August this year. Although she was technically homeless, she was being fed and cared for by the residents of a building and she would sleep in the building entrance but some of the neighbours were not happy about her being there and had threatened to have her ‘removed’. That’s when we were contacted to help and Ruby came to the pound. She was only there for one night however before going into foster care with George. 💕
As adoption rates in Oman are low and the opportunity came up to send her to America, we decided to send Ruby to Greyhound Friends of New Jersey in October to increase her chances of finding a forever home. It didn’t take long! Ruby has been adopted by Georgia and Keith Schilling! We’re so happy for you Ruby! Congratulations Georgia and Keith! We wish all of you a wonderful life together! 💗🐾

Browney (4 years old)
Browney was first seen living outside an apartment building in Al Qurum by Rama. He would spend his days lay in the soil trying to keep cool, half hidden by bushes. Rama started feeding him and that’s when she discovered he was in fact friendly, so she contacted us for help.
It took some time to catch him but Rama eventually managed it and then George Craig offered to foster him. Browney also had a terrible nose injury and an infection but he received the necessary veterinary treatment and recovered well under George’s care.
George however grew attached to the gentle giant and after family discussions they’ve now decided to officially adopt him! Browney will be going to live in Scotland with previous MDA rescue dog - Lady - and George & Kerry’s spaniel! 🐾
Congratulations to Browney, George & Kerry! We’re so happy for him and hope you all have a wonderful life together!🐾💕⭐️

Max (4 years old)
Max came into our care last summer after his expat owner left the country and left Max behind. We knew Max would not stand a chance living on the street and we had space at that time, so he came to the pound. Despite being a lovely friendly dog, he had no interest from potential adopters in Oman. So, when the opportunity came to send him to Greyhound Friends of New Jersey in October 2019, we sent him with hopes that he would find his forever home in the USA.
We were right! Max was soon adopted by Michael Guglielmo and family and he has two greyhound siblings for company! Congratulations to you all and we hope you have a wonderful life together!💕🐾
Thank you to Greyhound Friends of New Jersey for taking such good care of Max and finding his forever home.

Nina (1 year old) ⭐️
Mama Nina came to our pound with her six babies in August 2019. She was living on the streets in an area of Muscat known for a lot of dog cruelty towards the strays. Nina had managed to keep her babies safe and from harm but we made space for them and brought them to safety at the pound.
Nina and her babies were all treated under the care of Omani Paws while they boarded with us. Nina was so friendly and all the volunteers fell in love with her, especially Sam Woodcock who decided to officially adopt her! She will be going back to live with him in the UK with fellow rescue sister Sana in May. We’re so happy for you Nina! You deserve the best life and we know Sam will spoil you to bits! 🐾💗

Prince (2.5 years old)
Prince was found abandoned outside Al Meera supermarket in Al Hail in 2016. He was lay on an old mattress and very friendly so was in danger of being an easy target for abuse or being shot.
He was brought to the pound where he stayed for a year and a half. This gentle giant was a favourite amongst the volunteers but feared by potential adopters. That was until Tanya & Anton of the Wadi Wranglers decided to adopt him into their pack!
He flew to France in November 2018!

Kayla (5 years old) ⭐️
Beautiful Kayla was with us at the pound for almost six years. She had been with us since she was a puppy and it was apparent she was not going to find her forever home in Oman. So, we sent her to Animal Ark In The USA where she was soon adopted by Earl & Pat Johnson! ❤️

Amigo (5 years old)
Amigo came to the pound almost six years ago after being rescued with his mum and litter siblings. Despite being the most friendly dog you will ever meet, he was continually overlooked :( . He has now found his forever home with Steve & Diane & sister Daisy (also his old kennel mate!). We wish you the happiest life in your furever home Amigo!

Twinkle (now Naja) (2 years old) ⭐️
Naja was rescued in September 2018 by one of our volunteers, Gill, after she had been abandoned on the street. Naja turned up at the school where Gill works and was too friendly and used to people to be a stray. Naja was first taken to the vet for treatment and spaying before going to Canadian Jebel K9. She then then came to our pound for about a month before being adopted by Justin, Stephanie & sons! ❤️🐾

Elsa
Elsa has ended up in Scotland! She was adopted by a lovely family in Benbecula, in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. Here she is with her new sister Patricia. Apparently Elsa has a whole beach to herself to run free! Wow, what a lucky girl. Thank you to Linda MacDonald for adopting her.

Gracie & Zorro
We are so happy that Gracie and Dhabi (now Zorro) got adopted together.
They make a great pair and we would have been gutted to separate them.
A huge thanks to the Gibb family - Jim, Gill, Isla, Mush and Storm the dog for adopting this awesome twosome together.

Winnie
Our sweet girl Winnie was adopted by lovely couple Alexis & Ian. Winnie was always overlooked by potential adopters - as she was so quiet and calm, they always chose the excitable dogs around her. But her long wait has been worthwhile - as soon as her new Mum & Dad saw her, it was love at first sight! She’s gonna be one spoiled lady .. and she sooo deserves it! She now has her own pool and lots of grass to roll on - she's in Heaven! All the best Winnie x
